Euro 2020
Round of 16
Matches 3 & 4
Portugal v Belgium
Netherlands v Czech RepBetway UK Sports EURO banners

Portugal go into their knockout match against Belgium with an undefeated status between the two.

Belgium have drawn two and lost three of their last five meetings with Portugal.

The two sides have never played each other in either the World Cup or the Euros.

Your Welcome Bonus is waiting for you at Betway!

So, this Euro 2020 encounter in Seville between the two is likely to go down as a fascinating, memorable match.

Portugal are the defending champions, Belgium the semifinalists at the World Cup 2018 where they lost to eventual champs France.

Individually too, Portugal captain Christiano Ronaldo leads the race for the Euro 2020 Golden Boot with five goals from three matches.

He is closely followed by his Belgian counterpart Romelu Lukaku.

Whom between the two sides and their individual stars would you expect to exit from this last-16 stage?

In Budapest, the Netherlands will be meeting the Czech Republic for the first time in more than five years.

However, most of this present squad would know the exploits of Vladimir Smicer.

The Czech midfielder wrecked the Oranje with an 88th minute shocker in the Euro 2004.

This was their last meeting in the Euros. This time the Oranje will have to deal with and subdue another such threat - Patrik Schick, if he gets going.

They head into today's knockout with 1-all in the Euros, but the Netherlands players and their fans would be itching to have that 2004 disaster erased or settled equitably.

The Sportsmole UK has predicted a 2-0 win in favour of Frank de Boer's Oranje.

The publication feels the Belgium v Portugal clash will end 1-all full-time, with Portugal winning on penalties.

See: Sunday's Euro 2020 predictions including Belgium vs. Portugal

The National News has given Portugal a thumbs down citing poor form of their Manchester City defender Ruben Dias and goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

This publication feels the Netherlands will march past the Czech Republic.

Australia's The Roar says that the Oranje have shown from their group matches that they possess an all-round class to progress against the Czech Republic.

This sports publication too reckons defending champs Portugal have peaked and Belgium, who still have room to improve, will win the battle of big guns.

The Lines, from the United States, offers insights into betting odds including the Euro 2020.

This publication is undecided whom between Belgium and Portugal will likely prevail for a faceoff with Italy.

It says the Dutch are heavily favoured to trounce the Czech Republic and take on Denmark in the last 8.

EURO2020 Predictions: Italy Favourites To Trounce Austria, Denmark Favoured Over Euro2016 Semifinalists Wales

Betway UK Sports EURO banners

The Azzuri face a tricky Austria in their Round of 16 clash.

Roberto Mancini's XI did not face tough opponents in the group matches.

You may say the Italians were tested by Wales before winning 1-0 in their group encounter.

True, but they had rested eight of their regulars for that final group match.

Betway UK Sports EURO bannersThe fact is, Italy have got into the Round of 16 winning all three group matches.

They haven't conceded a goal in their previous 10 matches and are on a 30-match unbeaten spree.

That's not all.

Italy have defeated Austria in all of their 13 previous meetings since 1962, including four defeats at FIFA World Cup matches.

The second match to begin the Round of 16 puts Denmark as firm favourite against Wales, the 2016 semifinalists.

Although the Welsh have won four of their previous 10 games against the Danes, they have lost all three of their last three competitive faceoffs since June 1999.

If you believe in jinx, then Wales have lost both of their last previous matches at Amsterdam, venue where they'll take on Denmark in the Round of 16.

This match will be played at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

So, whom do you predict to move to the quarterfinals from these four teams? Your Welcome Bonus is waiting for you at Betway!

Uefa has started a Knockout Predictor game that you can sign up to and even save your choice here.

What are experts and media predicting?

The official Uefa website has put Wales and Denmark in with an equal chance to win this Round of 16 match.

Uefa too, however, does not see any hiccup for Italy to go past Austria into the quarterfinals. See: UEFA EURO 2020 daily preview: What to look out for on Saturday

Bleacher Report says Denmark showed exemplary courage to win an emotional final group game after Christian Eriksen's on-field cardiac arrest.

It add that if not for keeper Danny Ward, the Dragons would have suffered heavier defeats in the group games.

Bleacher Report predicts Denmark the winner of the two.

It also says that the Azzurri are the heaviest tournament favourites going into the Round of 16.

Mancini's men go into the match with a commanding defence and an unblemished winning streak.

So, Austria despite the return of Marko Arnautovic after a one-match suspension will be no match for Italy. See: Euro 2020: Predictions for the Knockout Phase

The UK's The Telegraph has predicted Denmark to bow out at the semifinal stage.

The publication feels Wales have Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Euro 2016 veterans to stymie the Danes. However, it quotes the Welsh manager Robert Page saying: "they will have to be at their counter-attacking best.". See: Euro 2020 knockout stage predictions: England to reach final as dark horses Denmark make deep run

Fantasy Football Scout UK ran an extensive quote-based article that has interim manager Rob Page admitting that he is under no illusion about the challenge Wales is going to face against Denmark.

Both, the publication and Page did not commit to predicting the winner of this Wales v Denmark match.

Fantasy Football has quoted Mancini saying "A different tournament kicks off now. If the lads continue like this, then I could not ask for more." See: EURO 2020 injury updates and team news ahead of the round of 16

Team India Make Batting Collapse Prediction A Reality To Lose Inaugural WTC Final

Betway UK Sports EURO banners

India v New Zealand

Day 4, 5 & 6

New Zealand deservedly inscribed their name on the inaugural World Test Championship crown, leaving Team India and their fans crestfallen on Day 6 at the Hampshire Bowl.
Irfan Pathan, offering special guest analysis in the HotStar studio initially lay the blame for India's dismal second innings batting on Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin's poor shot selection.

The fact is, India's famed top 5 specialist batsmen succumbed with 109 on the board, 77 after taking away the 32-run first innings deficit.

India's specialist batsmen, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, captain Virat Kohli and vice captain Ajinkya Rahane were poorly prepared for The Ultimate Test.

India's legendary opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar, now commentating, was quick to remark that the reserve day offered no rain and plenty of sun along with a pitch good for batting.

These benefits were grabbed and enjoyed by New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor, just when their team needed them.

The final moments at the Hampshire Bowl had more of New Zealand fans and supporters singing on chorus: "The trophy is coming home."

There were no drums, dhols and bhangra that were omnipresent on all days of the match except the later part of Day 6.

Day 5

Kane Williamson and Team India seem to conspire for a draw on a day when it wasn't raining at the Hampshire Bowl on Day 5.

However, a Test match and those who play it know that it's a game of patience.

The New Zealand skipper had bolted one end until he succumbed to a dogged, defensive 49 from 177 deliveries.

Team India's pace attack, on the other hand, gave you a feeling that they were either content bowling for a draw or they did not possess any wicket taking deliveries.

All this changed when both, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma found their incisive length to bowl and with it their mojo.

You could now be encouraged to bet on a result. Best Odds GuaranteedJoin Now!

The New Zealand first innings ended with a 32-run lead. In reply, India ended the day on 64 for 2, with captain Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara at the crease.

Their target is likely 250 and batting at least until lunch before trying to get 10 New Zealand wickets to win The Ultimate Test.

The reserve day, Day 6, is up for excitement and fireworks from both teams. If it doesn't rain.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain continues to believe that there's a collapse hidden in this match. Former New Zealand bowler Simon Doull too feels any of the three results, a draw, or win for India or New Zealand is possible on Day 6.

Day 4

"The logical bet is for a draw now..." says the commentary that Google search has posted along with the scorecard of the match on Day 4.

The commentary then makes an addition with "...but in Test cricket or cricket in particular, you can never rule out a collapse."

Day 4 was again, like the opening day, a complete washout.

There was lot of fun though in the stands at the Hampshire Bowl.

See:Betway UK Sports EURO banners

And although the probability metre on the Google search scorecard shows the match is heading 80% to a draw, the commentary has left scope for speculation by broaching the collapse scenario.

India suffered a collapse recently in Adelaide, Australia. That was playing with the notorious pink ball.

The WTC final is played with the red Dukes cricket balls, manufactured by the British Cricket Balls Limited.

Irrespective of the colour of the ball, do you think there could be a collapse in this match?

You may bet here: Free Bet

The Cricinfo says "India and New Zealand now have a maximum of 196 overs - including the reserve day - to identify an outright winner."

Should there be a result, this indeed would be The Ultimate Test, the tagline chosen to promote this match.

The rainy and gloomy scene was captured aptly and tweeted by the match broadcaster Star Sports.
Day 6, the reserve day was primed to be included from Day 1 when more than 150 minutes were lost to rain.

Nikesh Rughani, Commentator/reporter @bbcsportn too feels there's a possibility, more than probability of a result.

You may join Nikesh in predicting a result by using Betway. No, this is not suggesting Nikesh is using Betway. I wouldn't know. But.. Your Welcome Bonus is waiting for you at Betway!

What Made Football Legend Owen Jump Into Texting Scandal Oven?

You are a legend. Hypothetically. And retired.

Would you be a muffin and jump into a hot oven? Just for the heck of it?

You'd rather spare yourself being that muffin and devote your time on more constructive purposes.

Fans of England and Liverpool legend Michael Owen, 41, are thinking just that.

Their legend, married to his childhood sweetheart, dad of four and in a horse breeding business has got sucked into a scandal that could potentially ruin his married life.

Consider you aren't a legend and living a decent, married life.

Would you send seedy texts to a reality star begging her for nude pictures, knowingly full well that:

1. The woman, ex-big brother housemate Rebecca Jane, 36, ran a detective agency that helped married women spy on their unfaithful partners.

2. The woman herself got trained into spying after the male spies she hired to spy on her cheating hubby returned unimpressive results.

3. She ran this lady detective agency for about eight years before selling it off in 2018. That's lot of experience.

4. She is a regular guest on the ITV show This Morning.

5. She is a trainee solicitor.

6. She has been involved in a similar filthy texts incident with former England rugby star Ben Foden. That incident too hit the headlines in August 2019.

Owen may not have been aware of his antics making the headlines on Father's Day.

He was happy tweeting and posting a picture with his dad.

 Happy Father’s Day!

You could only speculate, now that this scandal is on the lips of the masses, Owen could do with some holistic therapy treatments or yoga at the PH7 Wellbeing that Rebecca Jane is promoting as the company's group operations director.

The Sun quoted her friend saying that Jane was thrilled at being contacted by her childhood hero.

As Owen's well wisher, you'd feel that the legend was fortunate his proposed meeting with Jane did not materialise.

What the media is reporting:

Married former striker Michael Owen 'begged reality TV star for nude pictures'

Who is Michael Owen’s wife Louise Bonsall, and how many children do the couple have?

India Falter In Batting And Toil In Bowling; Fans Unhappy With Play Lost To Rain

Betway IRE sports racing 30 welcome bonus

India v New Zealand

Day 1, 2 & 3

Three days gone. Three days to go.

India faltered in their batting and toiled in their bowling on Day 3.

Their famed batting fell short of their own 250-run first innings target as they were all out for 217.

Their wrecker in chief was Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate, the 6 feet 8 Kyle Jamieson, who scalped 5 for 31 runs in his eight Test.

Fielding, India's pace bowlers did everything good except take a wicket until spinner Ravichandran Ashwin stepped in and broke the opening partnership.

New Zealand did well ending the day at 101 for 2.

After an initial delay, play started on Day 3 with the scalp of India skipper Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant in quick succession.

The Team India captain had, on Day 2, got into the elite club as the sixth Indian Test batsmen to have aggregated 7,500 career runs.

He also eclipsed his predecessor, M S Dhoni's record of captaining India in 60 Tests. This WTC Final is Kohli's 61st as captain.

Kohli was unfortunate to have been given out to an "umpire's call" decision, one which saved Pant.

However, the southpaw, aggressive wicketkeeper batsman perished flashing at a delivery from the 6 feet 8 Kylie Jamieson to a slip catch.

As a result, India lost four wickets by lunch for an addition of 65 runs from their overnight score of 146 for 3. At lunch, they were 211 for 7.
Betway UK Sports EURO banners

Earlier, an abundance of thrill and excitement was expected from the inaugural WTC final at the Hampshire Bowl.

At the start of the third day's play, the probability of a draw has increased to more than 65%. A dampener.

You may choose to disagree and even bet on a constructive result on Betway.

Your Welcome Bonus is waiting for you at Betway!

Only 64.4 overs bowled from a two-day target of 180. A major part washed out.

Questions from experts and former Test greats are hovering over the way the incorrect manner in which the umpires are checking the visibility parameter.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, now commentator, was shocked at umpires placing the light metre on top of the stumps.

"If I were playing, I would have agreed with that method," Gavaskar mocked.

Usually, the umpires hold the light metre against the sight screen. This helps them ascertain whether a batsman will be able to spot the leather ball released at up to 145mph.

Elsewhere, fans hungrier after the Indian Premier League was abandoned midway, are questioning the selection of England as a venue for this prestigious event.

"This is the the inaugural World Test Championship in the 144 year history of Test cricket. Why would the ICC (International Cricket Council) choose a venue in England at this time when they know there'll be rains?," asked one die-hard fan from Mumbai.

Other fans have shared memes on Twitter to show their ire and frustration.
The ICC has apparently chosen the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton (initially Lord's) not because players get to wear jumpers, fans at the stadium get to drink beer, or England is the home of cricket.

The Hampshire Bowl was picked for these reasons:

1. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) assured the ICC that the WTC Final could be hosted safely in a bio-secure bubble.

2. The ECB's success at organizing a summer of bio-safe international cricket in 2020 convinced the  ICC.

3. The venue offers playing and training facilities that are world-class. This is helpful for the competing teams to practice and prepare for the big event.

4. The Hampshire Bowl has on-site accommodation for the teams, their staff, broadcasters and their staff. This arrangement ensures the risk of COVID-19 transmission is curtailed.

5. England is the most ideal neutral location for hosting a Test match of this level.

WTCFinal 2021: Gavaskar Triggers Debate On Team Change Minutes Before Toss; HotStar ahead of toss?

Betway IRE sports football 30 welcome bonus

India v New Zealand

Cricket is keeping up with the viral media and trends.

There was no play on June 18, Friday, the opening day of the inaugural World Test Championship in Southampton, England.

It poured and former England captain Michael Vaughan grabbed his social media moments of fame. He tweeted:

His typical British way of rubbing-it-in, punny tweet riled many young Indians although a large number of India's youth, men and women, are taking up stand-up comedy as a hobby and profession.Betway NZ Sports FB banners

Meanwhile, the viral media got to work with legend Sunil Gavaskar.

India's legendary opening batsman and former captain unravelled another of his eye-ball grabbing quotes saying: "As a captain, when I used to be confused between playing a spinner or an extra batsman, I used to see the opposition's eleven and scratch and change the team on my paper just before the toss."

Gavaskar said this to Aaj Tak on the prospect of making a last minute change to the Test team, considering the playing XI India announced for the WTC Final has two spinners when the wet, rainy weather at the Hampshire Bowl indicate the condition suits pace bowlers.

The debate has picked up speed as Gavaskar advocates including an additional batsman, Hanuma Vihari at the cost of a spinner.

Former South African pace ace, Dale Steyn, is rooting for India to include an additional pace bowler.

You are not sure what do Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri have in mind.

However, there's a response from their camp from an unlikely source. And it's bold.

Crictacker has India's fielding coach R Sridhar saying: "The eleven that has been announced is eleven that takes conditions out of the equation. I think it’s the eleven which can play and perform on any given surface and any given weather conditions."

Betway BE EN Sports banners

As an ardent Team India fan, you are delighted to hear such confident words.

Will Kohli and his men be able to translate them into success?

For this, you need to watch the WTCFinal promotional clips that are on with broadcaster HotStar.

One of the clips has India's current middle batting sensation and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant saying: "We win as a team and lose as a team."

Meantime, stand-up comic, football & Test cricket obsessor Abijit Ganguly tweeted from @AbijitG:

He was spot on. You are made to understand that television and mobile cricket broadcast has a 5-minute lag from the real-time action.

This time, HotStar seemed to be ahead of the toss. India indeed have been put into bat first by Kane Williamson, who has won the toss.

Are you wondering what did Team India players do during the opening day that was washed out by rain?

You don't need to know who played whom and who won. Correct?

You though can follow your cricket stars this season and play these games. If you don't have them, order here:

You Bet, There's Little Confusion Or Doubt Over India's Preferred 11

Betway BE EN Sports banners

India v New Zealand

Former international stars, commentators and expert enthusiasts of Test match cricket are debating over India's preferred 11 for the inaugural WTC final match.

The fact is: Irrespective of how the weather turns out to be on June 17, the eve of the Test match, the 11 players who'll take the field are obvious.
Betway BE EN Sports banners
By their own admission, statistics do not matter to captain Virat Kohli, coach Ravi Shastri and many current Team India players.

The WTC final is a tussle between two of the nine-Test playing teams who fought their way over a two-year period to qualify for this summit clash.

Kohli and his men have several trigger factors to inspire themselves. Among them are:

1. This is the inaugural WTC final and they'd want their name to be inscribed on the trophy first.

2. Their opponent, New Zealand have beaten India 2-0 on their way to the WTC final. India would be looking to alter that by winning this final.

3. India will be playing a bilateral series in England after this final. They'd definitely want to start their England journey with a win.

With these factors in mind and a few others, Kohli and Shastri would be playing their most experienced, gutsiest, smartest, resilient bunch. This, apart from the specialist positions.

Thus, India's preferred 11 would be: Specialist batsmen: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane. Wicket-keeper batsman: Rishabh Pant. Spinner allrounders: Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. Specialist pace bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami.

The only notable change if any would be among the specialist bowlers. You shouldn't be surprised if the Indian thinktank picks Mohammed Siraj ahead of Shami.

Siraj is a go-getter. Shami, on the brink of decline although he has earned repute as a lethal second innings bowler and one who can wreak havoc when the ball turns old.

You'll be glad to see that former India great Venkatesh Prasad too feels India's preferred 11 is a no-brainer. See his tweet:

Few former India stars are backing Hanuma Vihari to play in the 11, acknowledging that India's batting needs depth.

Their contention also gets stronger on the fact that Vihari has been in England much ahead of the others, playing the counties.

However, these aspects may not convince Kohli and Shastri.
Including Vihari would mean India is indicating to the opposition that they do worry about their specialist batsmen failing.

Vihari's inclusion would also show that India are not confident on the batting abilities of Pant, Ashwin and Jadeja.

As batsmen, these three love stiff challenges as equally as they love their bowling and wicket-keeping.

They need their captain and coach to feel assured and show faith in  their batting prowess.

When they went for their certification, they realized that all online PMP and CAPM exam prep courses were designed toward the serious corporate professional who has "leather bound books and lives in a rich mahogany smelling apartment."

That wasn't all. The material provided looked like a PowerPoint Deck. Getting your online certification shouldn't be this painful and boring, they reasoned.

So they collaborated on creating fun and easy as possible exam prep material that all aspiring project managers love. "Our exam prep material mimics real projects so that you learn real-life concepts that will serve your career," says Brain Sensei.
